Woodson County Jail Mugshots
Woodson County publishes booking photos through the official Woodson Detention Center roster operated by the sheriff's office. County sources identify Sheriff Jacob Morrison for the local sheriff agency. The current roster shows mugshot thumbnails beside listed inmates, and the individual profile shows a larger single booking image. The official image alt text observed in the research used the phrase "Mugshot of" followed by the inmate name. The page is a roster, not a public photo gallery. The mugshot appears with booking details such as name, booking number, booking date, arresting agency, charge text, and bond.
No separate Woodson County mugshot archive, daily booking gallery, or sheriff app photo feed was located in official sources. The sheriff website has a Most Wanted page, but that is not the same thing as a booking-photo archive. The documented public path is the roster chooser, the current roster, the 48-hour release list, the individual profile, and then a KORA request if a needed booking photo is no longer online or never appeared online.
The official roster chooser shows that Woodson users must choose between current custody and recent release views.
The chooser matters because Woodson County jail mugshots are reached through custody status choices, not through a standalone mugshot search box.
Find Woodson County Booking Photos
The fastest path is the sheriff roster. Open the current inmate list when the person is believed to be in custody. Open the 48-hour release list when the person may have been released very recently. The roster has no visible free-text search box, so sort and filter links are the working controls. Use Name, Date, Current, Released, Sort Newest to Oldest, Sort Oldest to Newest, and View Profile.
- Open the Woodson Detention Center roster chooser.
- Select Current Inmates for people believed to be held now, or 48 Hour Release for recent releases.
- Sort by Name or Date, then review the thumbnail images and listed booking details.
- Open View Profile for the larger booking photo and the full profile fields.
- Call 620-625-8640 if a photo, bond, charge, or case number must be confirmed.
- Use a KORA request for older or non-online booking photos, subject to redaction or denial.

The current roster screenshot confirms that booking photos appear beside the public roster fields rather than in a separate photo-only product.
Woodson County Mugshot Profile
The individual inmate profile is the best public place to see what accompanies a Woodson County booking photo. The inspected sample profile showed a single front-facing mugshot and the standard booking fields. It did not show height, weight, hair color, eye color, date of birth, housing unit, cell block, court date, judge, projected release date, bond type, charge statute code, or a direct court-case link. Users should avoid assuming that missing fields are hidden somewhere else on the same roster.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Mugshot | Public booking image shown as a roster thumbnail and larger profile photo. |
| Name | Full listed inmate name, generally uppercase on the roster. |
| Booking # | Local jail booking identifier assigned by the detention center. |
| Age / Gender / Race | Basic demographic fields published with the profile. |
| Arresting Agency | Agency tied to the booking entry. |
| Booking Date | Date and time of jail intake. |
| Charges | Booking charge text, sometimes with a court case number embedded. |
| Bond | Listed bond amount, subject to court changes and jail confirmation. |

The profile image is important because it shows the official photo in context with charge, bond, and booking information.
Woodson County Release Mugshots
The release view is limited by the sheriff's own label. The roster chooser says 48 Hour Release shows all persons released from Woodson Detention Center within the last 48 hours. The current roster shows people in present custody. The official site does not state that older booking photos remain searchable after that release window, and no historical Woodson mugshot archive was located. A person who was released outside the recent window may no longer be visible through the public roster.
The 48 Hour Release roster is the official recent-release source for Woodson Detention Center.
The release screenshot shows the separate recent-release lane that should be checked before assuming a booking photo is unavailable.
Woodson County Mugshot Law
Kansas sources did not identify a single law labeled as a mugshot statute for Woodson County. The safer legal frame is Kansas public-record law and the sheriff's actual practice of publishing booking photos on the official roster. K.S.A. 45-216 states that public records are open unless another law provides otherwise. K.S.A. 45-221 lists records that are not required to be disclosed and calls for separation or redaction when open and closed material appear together.
Key Statutes:
K.S.A. 45-216 states Kansas public policy that records are open unless law closes them.
K.S.A. 45-220 allows agencies to use written request procedures for public records.
K.S.A. 45-221 permits withholding or redaction for exempt records and closed details.
For Woodson County, the strongest practical evidence is official publication. The sheriff roster displays mugshots publicly for current custody entries and the recent release list. That does not mean every photo must be released in every setting. Juvenile information, active investigation material, sealed records, personal identifiers, and other exempt content may be limited.
What Woodson Mugshots Show
A booking photo shows appearance at or near booking. It does not prove guilt, final charge status, conviction, sentence, or release eligibility. The roster profile's own warning says charges and bail amounts may change after court appearances and may not be current. A Woodson County jail mugshot should therefore be read with the booking number, charge text, bond note, court record, and release status.
What is and isn't public: Current roster photos and recent-release photos are public on the sheriff roster. Older booking photos, closed records, and restricted details may require a KORA request or may not be released.
The public roster is useful, but it is not a full criminal-history database. For the filed case after an arrest, use Woodson County court records after jail arrest. For current custody and bond confirmation, use the jail roster and call the detention center.
Request Woodson County Booking Photos
When a booking photo is not online, the request path is practical and specific: check the current roster, check the 48-hour release roster, call Woodson Detention Center at 620-625-8640, ask about in-person records access during administrative hours, then submit a Kansas Open Records Act request if the record is still needed. The request should name the person, provide the approximate booking date, identify the desired record as a booking photograph or booking record, and ask which custodian should receive the request if the sheriff is not the final custodian.
Woodson County sources point open-records requests to the county clerk for certain county records, while booking-photo questions should also be routed through the sheriff because the sheriff operates the jail. K.S.A. 45-220 allows written requests and basic information needed to identify the record and right of access. Fees, copy costs, turnaround time, and delivery method were not published in the Woodson mugshot research, so they should be confirmed before filing or paying.
Woodson Mugshot Removal
Official Woodson sources did not publish a special mugshot-removal form. The records-clearing path runs through court and records law, not through a private removal service. If a case is dismissed, amended, sealed, or eligible for expungement, the person should use the court case record and Kansas expungement process to address public access. K.S.A. 21-6614 provides the Kansas procedure for expungement of eligible convictions, arrest records, and diversion agreements.
A roster photo may also disappear from the public roster because the person is no longer in current custody and the release window has passed. That is different from a legal expungement. If the issue is an inaccurate current record, call the detention center. If the issue is the court case status, contact Woodson County District Court. If the issue is an older public-record copy, use the KORA and court-order path rather than any commercial mugshot-publishing or pay-to-remove site.
State and Federal Photos
KDOC KASPER is separate from Woodson County jail mugshots. It is for people sentenced to Kansas Department of Corrections custody or supervision, and its search settings include photo options. A person sentenced from Woodson County may later be found in KASPER rather than on the county jail roster. KASPER is not the same as a Woodson booking-photo archive and is not a complete criminal-history search.
Federal and immigration tools are different again. The BOP inmate locator covers federal prisoners from 1982 to present but does not publish county-style mugshots. The ICE Online Detainee Locator System is for immigration custody and does not answer ordinary Woodson criminal custody questions. VINELink can help with custody notifications, but it is not a mugshot archive.
